The work is inspired by the poem Burnt Norton written by T.S.Elliot – .
The space is totally white in colour with a floor consisting of soft underlay and a white material stretched tightly over. A video is projected on to the floor. The video is performanced based, using a white material and arm movements. The imagery shows a quiet white scenery, disrupted by movements. A still concentrated movement breaks into sudden rapid changes disrupted by sounds from an avalanche.
Tone Myskja´'s installations exist within the new visual language belonging to the video medium. In the work Still Point, where the video is projected onto the floor, the projection surface shows images of skin and landscape. We stand at the edge; observing how the body transforms and disrupts the surface, revealing intimate relationships between the body and the landscape. Her experimental use of the body via the video medium has now turned into a poetic image expression. Ole Jørgen Ness - Herslebsgate 10 - 1994
